Don't Run from the Rain: Embracing Life's Storms
Years ago, my mother shared a piece of wisdom that has stuck with me like a comforting refrain: "Find a person who won't run from the rain." The deeper meaning behind that simple phrase is something I've come back to time and time again.
In life, there really are two kinds of people: those who brace themselves and embrace whatever storm may come, and those who run and hide at the first sign of a downpour. I've tried to weave that lesson into many aspects of my life, always coming back to the idea: don't run from the rain.
The rain is a metaphor, of course. Life won't always be sunny. Dark clouds will roll in, and storms will come. But those who see the rain as a chance to cleanse, to dance, to listen to the rhythmic patter on a tin roof—those are the ones who find the beauty in life's storms. It's not about avoiding the rain but about learning to find meaning in it.
So let this be a reminder: don't run from the rain. Embrace it, let it wash away the dust, and find the freedom in not being afraid to get a little wet.
